A Journey Through Cinema.

My 6th Year at the Philadelphia Film Festival.

As the leaves begin to turn and the crisp air of fall settles in, one of my favorite traditions approaches—the Philadelphia Film Festival (PFF). This year marks my 6th year attending, and the excitement never fades. From October 17th to October 27th, the city will once again transform into a hub of creativity and cinematic brilliance, where filmmakers, cinephiles, and casual moviegoers alike come together to celebrate the art of storytelling on screen.

It's an absolute honor to be back another year as the Film Ambassador for AKA Hotels + Hotel Residences. I'm thrilled to partner with them and share my passion for film during the 33rd Philadelphia Film Festival, an event that has grown to be one of the highlights of my year. To me, this isn’t just a festival; it’s a space where stories come alive and where we, as viewers, are taken on profound journeys. It reminds us of the power of storytelling and how films can open our eyes, move our hearts, and inspire us to see the world differently.

Stay tuned for my upcoming reviews and recaps—I’ll be sharing the most captivating, spellbinding, and thought-provoking films this year’s festival offers.

Here’s to another year of cinematic magic at the Philadelphia Film Festival! 🎬✨

Lee

Lee is a riveting biographical drama that brings to life the extraordinary story of Lee Miller, a fashion model turned World War II photographer who documented the darkest corners of humanity. Set against the backdrop of wartime Europe, the film follows Miller's journey from the glamorous world of Vogue to the frontlines of Nazi-occupied territory, capturing the haunting realities of war. Kate Winslet delivers a powerful performance as Miller, whose courage and unflinching eye helped expose the atrocities of the Holocaust. Her portrayal is a fierce, layered exploration of a woman driven by a desire to uncover the truth, even as it threatens to consume her.

Directed by Ellen Kuras, Lee is as visually striking as it is emotionally resonant, with stunning cinematography that contrasts the horrors of war with moments of quiet introspection. Alexandre Desplat’s haunting score further amplifies the emotional depth of the story. Supported by a stellar cast, including Marion Cotillard and Andy Samberg, Lee is more than a portrait of a war hero—it's a meditation on the cost of witnessing trauma and the relentless pursuit of truth. This is a film that will linger long after the credits roll, compelling audiences to reflect on the untold stories buried in history.
